11/15

I wanted to let you all know that Jess Syria has put in her two-week notice to assume a position at Head Start. It sounds like a great move for her and for her family! I know you will all join me in congratulating her and wishing her all the best! Here is a note from here:
Dear TPS staff,
I am sure that you are now aware of my resignation from WRSD. After 18 years, this was not an easy decision. TPS has been like a second home to me. The friendships that I have made are irreplaceable. The economy has by far played the biggest role in this decision. I feel sad to be leaving and also guilty for leaving the current kindergarteners, as well as the bigger kids that I have watched grow all these years. It has been amazing watching so many go from kindergarteners to eighth graders and sometimes even come back as subs!  I want to thank all of you that have given me support and friendship all these years, whether it has been the full 18 years or just a few years. I appreciate all of you. TPS really is a great school. I will cherish my last few days there and I hope that I am able to stop by and visit sometime.
Thank you everyone!
Sincerely,
Jess

Tracy's last official day will be on 11/22 :( She will be back in the building periodically in December to train our new Administrative Assistant, Alexandra Culbersome though. She can't get rid of us that easily!

A note for 8th-grade advisors: Please have your 8th graders fill out this survey about how they would like to celebrate the completion of their time here at TPS.

In case you've lost track of the one-pager from the STEAM committee I have linked it here. Note that Rachel has planned a Turkey Trot for grades 5-8 on the 26th during specials. Grades 5-8 will do the trot during the 5th and 6th grade specials block to accommodate preps.

Next week's Staff Meeting will be an opportunity for you to work collaboratively on the above-mentioned parade. If your team is unable to meet at that time, please let me know when you will be meeting. We will plan to start off in the library before breaking off into groups.

Thank you to everyone who contributed names for our mascot. I have put the finalist names in this form and will keep it open until Thanksgiving. Majority rules and we will have a new name for our new mascot!
