For our assembly on Friday, we will have teams of students with a teacher. These teams will be timed as they cross the "lava" (aka the orange tarps) using various random furniture that we collect. After a team crosses the field will be reset. Any time a participant touches the lava, 30 seconds will be added to the team's time. The fastest team will be crowned as the winner! I'm going to ask that Kindergarten and 1st grade take the bleachers on the elementary side (girls' locker room side), and 2nd and 3rd grades take the MS side bleachers (boys' locker room side). 4th should congregate under the elementary side hoop (girls' locker room) and 5th under the other hoop. 6th 7th and 8th grades should stay in advisory groups and sit along the exterior wall of the gym. As we approach the end of the year, I was hoping to get some feedback on the schedule so far. Please take some time to look at it now. There is nothing worse than getting feedback two days before school when many schedules have been built around this one. 

A reminder that evidence towards goals is due in TeachPoint by  4/15. I'm planning to start the evaluations over the break so this will be particularly helpful. 

I'd ask teachers of Middle Schoolers (you too specialists) to complete this survey for the district. 

K-5 teachers, please include headphones with microphones to your supply lists this spring. Here is a suggestion from HMH.

Educational and Informational Resources for the April 8, 2024 Eclipse

The eclipse may overlap with dismissal for many Massachusetts schools. We recommend preparing students to safely experience the eclipse. Please instruct students not to look directly at the eclipse without proper eye protection.

• The NASA website and NSTA website contain multiple lesson plans and resources for educators.
• NSTA's website  contains a document with relevant information for school administrators.
• This video from the Fiske Planetarium contains information for administrators about student safety during the eclipse.
• There are many cultural stories surrounding eclipses. The Exploratorium website contains information about various cultural eclipse narratives and histories.
• Free eclipse glasses may be available through your local library and the Solar Eclipse Activities for Libraries program
