5/10

Happy Mother's Day to all of the mothers in the building!

Wednesday is our 1/2 Day PD day. We will be attempting to follow the same plan as our last one on 3/14 (the one that we had a snow day). I am cheating and cut and pasted what I wrote back then: "Wednesday is also our half-day PD day. I can finally give everyone time to complete the online ALICE training. You should have an email from Ed McAuliffe on October 17th with the login information. If you can't track it down try this URL: https://learn.navigate360.com/learn/course/196/alice-for-schools, Use the following to log in. Username: District email, Password alicetraining (all lowercase). Throughout the day representatives of the police and fire departments will be checking in to answer any environmental questions specific to your space. I'll also be handing out picture books for you to review before we read with students. I ask that you hold off on sharing these with kids until we have a date for a drill." If timing allows, we will have a drill before the end of the day with just staff.

A reminder that Wednesday morning's staff meeting was set aside to give teams a chance to look at placement together.

We'll be wrapping up summatives over the weekend and sharing them on Monday. I'd encourage you to take a look Monday evening and circle back with questions or concerns. If BethAnne or I have additional concerns we will reach out to you to schedule a time.

A Note From BethAnne

I hope you all felt appreciated this week. It really wasn’t that long ago that I was in “the trenches” and I know that at this time of year the exhaustion increases and maybe so does the stress. Over the weekend I saw the funny meme (Ace shared below) and thought it was fitting. I hope that all of the ways you were recognized this week made you smile and gave you a little boost for the 28 days ahead. At the risk of sounding corny, I know I am surely appreciative of all of you and everything you do for our TPS kids. Twenty eight days is nothing - we’ve got this!

Happy Teacher Appreciation Week!
