A reminder that goals are due next week! If you have any questions about yours please don't hesitate to reach out.
Costume parade logistics: Kindergarteners through 5th graders will participate in the parade. We have scheduled the Fall costume parade for October 31st and it will begin around 9:00. Students in grades K-5 can wear their costumes to school that day but should bring a container to place their materials in after the parade to make sure nothing is lost. Given that this is a spirit day, if the costumes are a distraction or too hot, they may not be able to keep them on. If a student in your class has beliefs that inhibit participation in this event, please let me know. I have already had a conversation with one family. Remaining Middle School students who are not in the marching band are free to pick the closest exit around the back to watch. K through 5 will follow each other out the bus lobby doors, take a right, and walk clockwise around the building before returning through the bus lobby doors. The middle school band will lead the way!

Hello TPS Staff,
It is my pleasure to let you all know that the Fall Cycle of the TPS Mini-Grants program officially opens this Friday, October 25th. You can view the info sheet below which should give you the most up-to-date information about the process.
You can submit your applications via this Google Form.
Below is a brief timeline for you to save for your records in case you forget any of the deadlines.
Last year's mini-grant program was a huge success. We hope to be able to provide many of you with what you desire this year. For your reference, here is a snippet of what we were able to provide during the 2023-2024 school year!

Rachel has been teaching rules of Gaga in some of her PE classes. The rules are below. As we enter the world of Gaga, I ask that one teacher station themselves close to the "pit" during games to support students in rule-following as well as conflict resolution. Proximity itself solves many problems. In the past when I have opened this up and been supervising when conflict arises I typically use that "Paper Rock Scissors best two out of three" is a good resolution method.
- All players start the game with one hand touching the wall of the pit.
- One player throws the ball into the center of the pit to start the game.... Players yell "Ga" on the first two bounces and "Go" on the third bounce. The ball is in play after "Go".
- Players CAN hit the ball with an open hand, but they can't pick it up or throw it. Players CANNOT hit the ball twice in a row, unless it hits the wall or another player in between.
- Players are out if the ball touches them below the knee, or if they hit the ball out of the pit. The last player in the pit wins.
- Holding onto the wall to assist a jump is called "spidering" and is not allowed.
- Touching the ground with their knees or lower legs as a defense mechanism is called "turtling" and is not allowed
- Some groups play "Revenge" where players can get back in after getting out--When the person who got them out gets out themselves.
