Remember report cards need to be completed the morning of the 13th so they can be verified by the end of the day.
The 6th grade is planning their annual TPS's pre-Thanksgiving Day Parade on Tuesday (11/21) at 8:50-9:10. Also, to give folks a heads up, Rachel and the Specials are planning a Turkey Trot that day (weather dependent). Grades 5-8 will all "trot" together following the parade while K-4 will trot as a grade during their normal specials times. Please remind students to bring sneakers that day.
A Note from BethAnne
PBIS
I'm looking for feedback on the PBIS classroom expectation videos to share with the committee so we can make adjustments (if needed) moving forward. Please take 2 minutes to fill out
THIS SURVEY. Thanks again to the 7/8 team for working on these.
A note from ST Math:
"83 students at Thomas Prince met their puzzle goal last week (K-1 40 puzzles, 2-3 60 puzzles)!
A HUGE shout out to Elaine Santello, in their kinder room, 86% of the students met their puzzle goal! This class had the highest percentage of students meeting their weekly goal in the school!
I should note that Lisa Jensen’s fourth grade block two was the second highest with 64% of her students meeting their weekly goal."
A note from the library:
"Dear Teachers,
As we reach the end of the first quarter, we have run a report that shows all of the overdue books for the students in the school. I am attaching the PDF of this report, but we will be leaving paper copies at the main office that can be cut into strips for you to distribute to students. Please don't send out the entire report to your class - for confidentiality reasons we can only let students know about books they have checked out on their own account.
As a reminder (and this is mostly for Specials teachers who are checking books out to kids) - when students have overdue library books we should not be checking out new books to them. Students who attempt to check out a book with an overdue book on their account (will show up in red when you pull up their account) should be given a green slip with the name of the overdue book written on it.
Please let families know that they have two options to clear their student's account. Each overdue book includes a replacement cost of the book which they can bring to the library (there is a bag in the drawer marked "Demco Genre Labels" where we collect fines), or they are welcome to purchase a new or gently used copy of the same book and have their child bring that back to the library. Any questions, please feel free to pass them along to me at jessie.trowbridge@gmail.com. Thank you so much for all you are doing to make the library an exciting place this year!"
And a chance to name a snowplow. I think we were robbed last year!:
"Students across the Commonwealth are encouraged to submit contest applications to help name 12 state-owned snowplows. The purpose of the contest is to celebrate the snow and ice season and to help recognize all of the hard work and dedication shown by public works employees and contractors during the winter season. Applications for the Snowplow Naming Contest are due by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, December 1, 2023, and can be submitted by using an online portal at this link. There is no limit to the number of applications that can be submitted per school. The contest winners are anticipated to be announced on Sunday, December 22, 2023, and will be invited to participate in a scheduled snowplow unveiling event. A selection panel composed of MassDOT employees will choose two elementary school classroom winners that are located within each of the six Highway Division districts. The winning submissions will be evaluated based on two grade-level categories: 1) kindergarten through fourth grade; and 2) fifth grade through eighth grade."
